Come Out in Geneva

At their last world conference in Manila, ILGA members gave a clear mandate to ILGA’s newly elected board: have sexual orientation and gender identity come out at the UN. Not surprisingly, Geneva, host of the UN commission on Human Rights - CHR - was also chosen to host ILGA’s next world conference...ILGA will end a two-year campaign for LGBT visibility at the UN holding its 23rd world meeting a few stepsaway from the United Nations...

At a time in history when human rights and civil liberties around the world are often not recognised or are being eroded, the 1st World Outgames Montréal 2006 invites you, your friends and your organisation to attend the International Conference on LGBT Rights at the Palais des Congrès in Montréal.

XXIII ILGA World Conference - Geneva

The main conference will, from 30th March to 3rd April, include various tracks enabling you to pick between numerous themes, beside plenary sessions where the future of ILGA will be discussed and decided. We expect Africa to be central to the whole conference with a special attention to what is happening now in Nigeria and also the presence of many activists from French speaking West Africa we are happy to meet... The biggest success would be to see organizations having already achieved a lot reaching out to those organizations in less fortunate situations...by Yves de Matteis
